Boycotting wasn't enough

After attending a protest, I created an offline boycotting app to help people understand who to boycott and to hurt the Israeli companies funding the ongoing genocide. but that wasn't enough, even though I wasn't contributing financially to the war. Gazans were still suffering.

After building iBoycott I tried to approach charities to collaborate with but to no avail. Other boycotting apps were being made that did the same thing with teams of people. MashaAllah, so I took a step back and thought again, what else can I do?

"Give a person a fish, and you feed them for a day; teach a person to fish, and you feed them for a lifetime."

After doom scrolling through Instagram for more hours than I would like to admit, I noticed some refugees in Gaza doing something very clever. They created videos starting with 3-second clips of something viral and then asking for likes and comments to take advantage of the algorithm. With a donation link in their description.

Then I realised something profound. They have mobile phones with access to some internet. They need money to survive. They have talent. Instead of donating to charities, why not provide a way for them to earn money themselves?
